Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Imagine coming home after a hard day and immersing yourself in a relaxation suite. Well, this is what Philips Consumer Lifestyle (CL) is aspiring to deliver with its range of innovative and original concepts for health and well-being. At an Immersive Session in its Lifestyle Condo in Saujana Villa today, it was revealed how Philips will enable consumers to transform their homes into a day spa, reinforcing its vision to empower consumers with simple devices that deliver the lifestyle experience consumers desire.

In its commitment to grow its position as a leading health and well-being brand in Malaysia as well as across Asia Pacific, Philips demonstrated three concepts at the Immersive Session – Rejuvenation Experience, Sound Therapy and Healthy Cooking – showcasing how Philips’ expansive range of consumer lifestyle products enriches lives through innovations made simple.

“The Immersive Session brings into sharp focus the positive impact that Philips can have on people’s lives – on their health, security and sense of well-being. The concepts that we present today outline Philips vision of a sustainable future in which we will continue to delight our customers, even while we make it simple for them to make responsible choices during an economic downturn,” said Lee Weng Seong, Chief Executive Officer, Philips Malaysia.

Philips’ focus on “Health” is not only on the prevention, treatment and management of illness but also on the creation of a healthy lifestyle, such as keeping fit and eating a balanced diet. Philips also seeks to enhance people’s sense of “Well-being” by contributing to their safety, ease, relaxation and enjoyment in any environment they find themselves.

On the sidelines of announcing today the 2009 extension of AT&T Williams F1’s multi-year partnership agreement with Philips to cover its entire CL sector, Williams’ Chef and Sport Physiotherapist, Adam Dixon and Nick Harris made a special appearance at the Immersive Session, and shared their experience of the immersion session and tips on how the F1 team relax and eat to stay healthy.

The Williams’ team Sports Physiotherapist, Nick Harris spoke about his experience with the Philips Anti Jetlag therapy and shared tips for relaxation and mental well-being employed by F1 drivers.

Williams Chef, Adam Dixon illustrated the benefits of Asian Cuisine via a healthy cooking demonstration. Healthy and nutritious meals are key to keeping the drivers and team in tip-top physical conditions, and it can be challenging to prepare healthy meals amidst the hectic F1 scheduling. Well-designed and multi-functional cooking appliances can help simplify and optimise this. Adam demonstrated how easy it is to whip up a healthy meal on the spot with a range of Philips Kitchen Appliances.

The Philips Immersive Experience showcases solutions for a Do-It-Yourself day spa, which maps back to the business units within Philips CL sector, including Audio, Video & Multimedia, Domestic Appliances, Peripherals & Accessories, Shaving & Beauty and Health & Wellness, such as:

  • Rejuvenation Experience – Researchers are increasingly discovering how lighting influences the human psyche. The Philips Rejuvenation Experience aims to immerse consumers in an environment that promotes the body to recharge and quickly return to a peak state of physical wellness, to be ready for tomorrow’s challenges.

Philips bathroom lighting is designed to deliver contrastingly different experiences for different situations. In the evening after a long day, soak in the bath tub under a ‘star-filled sky’ and allow the stress of the day to ebb away. After a restful night, perk yourself up in the same bathroom by taking a shower in the morning under high intensive lighting that refreshes the mind and gets you ready for the day. Philips will be promoting ambience healing and anti-jetlag therapy via Philips ActiViva lamps at the Immersive Session.

  • Sound Therapy – Recharging the body physically is but part of the rejuvenation process; recharging the soul is essential and completes the holistic experience. Transform your bedroom into a sound therapy zone by docking your Philips GoGear MP3 player with full sound on to the Ambisound bar and let the music fill the room and transcend the depths of your soul.

  • Healthy Cooking – Recharge your body with healthy food prepared with the Philips’ range of kitchen products. Healthy living is made easier with the Philips’ range of Kitchen Appliances. Retain the natural goodness of the food you eat, prepared quickly and conveniently to meet the demands of even the most demanding food critics – your children.
