 From 1983 until 1993 he worked for Genlyte in various divisions, including the Craftlite/Wide-Lite and HID/Outdoor Division. By 1993, Larry was president of the outdoor group of companies and the most profitable division within Genlyte. Since Larry Powers’ appointment as President in 1993, Genlyte has grown to become the recognized leader in the lighting industry. His success was underlined by his appointment as the company’s Chairman in April 2004. Larry Powers was born in a small community in Southern Idaho, and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1968. And from 1983 until 1995 he completed five different Management and Leadership courses. He’s married with four children and has eight grandchildren. |
