Sara Berman, fashion designer

Sara Berman is one of the UK's most successful young and upcoming fashion designers, with her own-name label now in its ninth season. The London-based designer's eponymous collection of womenswear has gained a steadfast following amongst trend influencers in both the UK and overseas.

Whilst studying at the acclaimed St. Martins College of Art and Design (London), Sara created a small cult collection that has grown into an established label now sold in 50 high-profile stockists worldwide. During her time at St. Martins, Berman worked with a selection of designers including Jasper Conran, Charles and Patricia Lester, Maria Grachvogel and Armani, and sold her own-label collection to stores in London including Harrods, Joseph and Fenwick Bond St.

Upon graduating in 1999, her collection was showcased in the window of Fenwick Bond St. for the duration of London Fashion Week, a unique honor for a young British designer. Later in November 1999, Berman was picked as one of a handful of designers to celebrate 125 years of Liberty by designing a limited number of hand embroidered silk skirts for the store in November 1999.

The accolades continued, and in February 2002 she received the Marks & Spencer New Generation award for the third time.

Sara was born in London in 1975. She married her husband David Shasha in 2001 and has a baby daughter Ella. They currently live in London.
