CX50 CompactXtreme Technology Backgrounder

CX50 CompactXtreme

Philips’ new handheld ultrasound system, the CX50 CompactXtreme, helps improve diagnostic confidence by providing high-quality images at the bedside, even for the most technically difficult patients. Designed to meet the needs of cardiologists, the system offers the convenience of portability while providing the premium image quality of a traditional, full-size system. It can enhance diagnostic details, allow for shorter exam times and reduce the need for repeat studies, often required with portable systems that provide inconclusive data due to poor image quality.

PureWave and XRES from Philips’ premium cart-based systems are available on the compact platform, allowing full echo data analysis from a portable system. Philips PureWave technology is clinically proven to improve penetration in difficult-to-image patients and to reduce clutter so that clinicians can view fine structures in excellent detail. Philips XRES adaptive image processing reduces speckle and haze often associated with ultrasound imaging, producing images virtually free from noise with extraordinary clarity and edge definition.

With easy-to-use tools designed for various needs, the system adapts to workflow, enabling clinicians to scan wherever the patient is located. The CX50 CompactXtreme offers portability to address multiple scanning environments, whether it is a hospital bedside or satellite clinic. Clinicians can quickly respond to urgent exam needs throughout the hospital, taking premium performance to the OR and CCU, where space is limited, patients cannot be moved and timing is critical.
